ReShoot Lets You "Re-Shoot" Any Video Using Your Phone's Motion Sensors
New iOS app turns landscape footage into polished portrait content without re-editing on desktop.
San Francisco, February 2026 - Thirty Seven, Inc. announced the launch of ReShoot, a free iOS app that lets creators reframe existing videos and photos using iPhone motion sensors. Instead of static crops or desktop timelines, users move their phone to drive a virtual camera path and export social-ready framing.
The Problem
Creators regularly have usable footage in the wrong orientation. Landscape clips need to become vertical for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, but traditional workflows are usually slow and manual.
How ReShoot Works
- Import any video or photo from your library.
- Choose an output format: 9:16, 1:1, 4:5, 16:9, or custom.
- Play the media and move your phone to pan and follow the action.
- Export a new render with your motion path and source audio preserved.
Key Features
- Gyroscope-powered reframing with smoothing.
- Touch fallback controls for pan and zoom.
- Export up to 4K in HEVC.
- HDR-aware processing with automatic tone mapping.
- Motion path export to FCPXML, After Effects JSX, JSON, and CSV.
- Voiceover recording during reframing sessions.
Pricing and Availability
ReShoot is available as a free download on the App Store for iPhone and iPad (iOS 17+).
